The tree! and more!

First it is Happy Birthday for my better half so I hope she had a good day, and I wish her a Very Happy Birthday. We purchased, erected and decorated the Christmas tree in the living room today, Faye is finishing it up and it is looking good. The first picture is the finished tree so you can judge for yourself and the second is Faye working on the tree. Well the girls all did this rainbow thing, so I had to try it also. I am not sure of it's accuracy but I will share it with you.

Your rainbow is strongly shaded green.

Just Another Friday Night

Here I sit in front of the boob tube (tube is not very relevant anymore, but boob still is!) , during the commercials I check out the progress of the Linux install I am doing on the computer in the den. It crashed a couple of weeks ago and I tried everything to reboot to windows xp to no avail. My solution is to install a new OS and Linux is free, besides I have wanted to play with it for a while now to become more familiar with it. I got some new parts for the Christmas project I have been working on for quite a while now. I received an email at work today from Faye relaying the message from Abbs that she would like to see the new animation movie Bolt. We are going to try to figure out a way to take her during our Thanksgiving visit. I thought at first we could just stay an extra night but I forgot that Faye has to go to a Bridal shower on Saturday and it is in Fort Wayne, IN about a three hour drive from here. Don't give up on Grandma and Papaw yet Abby we will try our best to see the movie. It's time to check the progress on the other computer so I am going to sign off for now.

HURRAH!!!!!!

Well we made it! Lissy and Chad are husband and wife. The events leading up to the wedding were fun, but the wedding itself was beautiful and the reception was simply loads of fun. We ate we danced and tried to converse but the music as usual made it difficult for conversation. I thought every thing was going great before the wedding and then Lissy walked off of the elevator, looking so beautiful and memories of Lissy through the years flooded me and I lost it. I turned away as quickly as I could but it wasn't fast enough and as it is on occasions like this the tears were infectious and Lissy did her best to hold back so as not to ruin her makeup. She did wonderfully and the wedding came off without a major hitch other than the lost license, but it was found and will be taken care of. It was good to see relatives and old friends and catch up with them as much as possible. I am adding a couple of pictures so you can see how great the couple looked. Enough for now pizza is on the way!

Autumn Field Trip

I am ashamed to admit that Faye and I have lived in Central Ohio for 8 years now and we haven't visited the Hocking Hills of Ohio until today. If you are not familiar with the area it is approximately 50 miles southeast of Columbus and as the name says, it is quite hilly. I think it may be the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Any way there is a state park there named, you guessed it, Hocking Hills State Park. There is a popular destination in the park called Old Man's Cave and that was our chosen point for the day. I am posting a couple of pictures, it is quite beautiful and I am always amazed at what Mother Nature has produced. Look at the size of the people in the pictures to get an idea of the size of the formations. When we were fairly close we saw the sign for Grandma Faye's General Store. Naturally we could not pass up that opportunity, to visit a store named after my sweetie. Check out the picture of her under the sign for "her" store. I also had some pretty good pictures on my camera taken by Carrie, at Melissa's shower, and a few I had taken at the Indianapolis Zoo in late summer. I will post some of those pictures on Flickr.
So the bottom line is, we had a very good day, and got to see some of the sights right here in our own "backyard".

Some thoughts I want to unload!

If you are familiar with my old web and blog there is a difference in the names and I want to point out the significance. The old name referred to "Leonland" and I started it while still in the midst of the prescription drug induced mental illness I was experiencing at the time. I gave myself more importance than I possessed, due in large part to the very bad combination of prescription drugs my psychiatrist at the time prescribed, and partially due to the big ego I possessed for years. I was psychologically in a very bad place that I never again want to visit. Enough of that, I am now seeing a new doctor and have been re-diagnosed and re- prescribed. I now feel really good about things and I am grounded in reality, hence the "ville" in the name of my blog. I now realize that I don't want to be a "big shot" or a "land". I am very happy living the life I have, and I realize that what matters the most is the impact I have on those closest to me, the people I love. If I can just be there for them, let them know I love them and leave a positive lasting impression on them then my job in life has been preformed in a manner I am proud of. A plus would be if I could in some small way be of service for the greater good, but now I am treading in God's realm and if he sees fit to use me in that way then terrific. That is about as much deep thought for a Notre Dame Saturday that I want to do. Sorry I bored you, but those are the breaks when you read a blog posted by a sentimental old man, with something to get off of his chest.

First post here!

This blog as I have said is a continuation of another from different site. I am home from work today due to not being able to keep anything down this morning. I feel better now but I haven't tried to put much into my stomach. I will not be an every day blogger so it won't be necessary for any one interested to check every day. I have more to post and might do so later but I am tired of having this hot box on my lap so I am going to call it for now.
