Autumn Field Trip

I am ashamed to admit that Faye and I have lived in Central Ohio for 8 years now and we haven't visited the Hocking Hills of Ohio until today. If you are not familiar with the area it is approximately 50 miles southeast of Columbus and as the name says, it is quite hilly. I think it may be the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Any way there is a state park there named, you guessed it, Hocking Hills State Park. There is a popular destination in the park called Old Man's Cave and that was our chosen point for the day. I am posting a couple of pictures, it is quite beautiful and I am always amazed at what Mother Nature has produced. Look at the size of the people in the pictures to get an idea of the size of the formations. When we were fairly close we saw the sign for Grandma Faye's General Store. Naturally we could not pass up that opportunity, to visit a store named after my sweetie. Check out the picture of her under the sign for "her" store. I also had some pretty good pictures on my camera taken by Carrie, at Melissa's shower, and a few I had taken at the Indianapolis Zoo in late summer. I will post some of those pictures on Flickr.
So the bottom line is, we had a very good day, and got to see some of the sights right here in our own "backyard".
